In November 2017, my husband and I took a long weekend and travelled to the legendary Big Sur coast. The bridge closure just south of the McKay Waterfall trail cut the through route to Santa Barbara, but we still soaked in the coastal California beauty. We hiked Henry Cromwell Redwood Park, Andrew Molera state park, Point Lobos state park. During the time it took to eat lunch at Napenthe, we watched an ocean of low clouds swallow the Pacific and creep up the hillside. Driving Highway 1, beauty awaited around every corner. A truly magical experience. One of the most memorable long weekends of our life. We will be back someday.
